PFAS/PFC statement
At Chaos, we are committed to environmental sustainability and the health and well-being of our customers. We understand the concerns surrounding per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and perfluorinated compounds (PFCs), and we want to assure you that we prioritize the use of materials that are safe and eco-friendly.
Our products are crafted with careful consideration for both performance and environmental impact. We strive to minimize the use of PFAS and PFCs in our manufacturing processes, opting instead for alternative materials that meet our high standards for quality and durability.
We continuously assess our supply chain and production methods to ensure that we are minimizing our environmental footprint and adhering to the latest regulations and best practices regarding PFAS and PFCs. Additionally, we are actively exploring innovative solutions and sustainable alternatives to further reduce our reliance on these substances.
Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our products to encompass every aspect of our business operations. We are dedicated to transparency and accountability, and we welcome feedback from our customers as we work towards a more sustainable future together.
Our Recycled Novelty Blends Collection
Chaos has been offering eco-friendly yarns for a while now, but we’ve always felt that most of the sustainable yarns developed by the yarn mills lacked that beautiful loft and fluffiness that we were used to knitting with in other Chaos programs. So, we made it our mission to correct this. Our Recycled Novelty Blend Collection showcases the fruits of those labours. With silky hand feels and gorgeous heather effects, we were able to engineer eco yarns that mimicked our some of our most sought-after cashmere and mohair yarns. All fur used in this range is vegan-friendly faux-fur.
Our Modal Collection
Modal is bio-based, super-soft, durable, breathable, absorbent, and resistant to shrinkage and color fading. It’s no wonder then, that the FACE-OFF and DERRYK are best-sellers. They have a silky hand feel and they’re very lightweight. The Derryk is in a uniquely blurred space-dye blend. Both styles are available in five easy-to-wear colors.
Our GOTS Certified Organic Cotton Collection
The Global Organic Textile Standard is the most comprehensive international textile certification available for organic compounds. Compliance for certification is multi-leveled and includes qualifications in the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, trade, and distribution of all textiles made from at least 95% certified non-GMO organic natural fibers.
Inputs like dyes and oils need to be biodegradable and free of harsh chemicals like phthalates, PVC, synthetic sizing agents, and chlorine bleach. And, aside from all these incredible benefits, all beanies in this collection are completely biodegradable.
Our Polylana® Collection
This year, Chaos has partnered with Polylana® to bring high-quality, low-impact, affordable basics to our AW21/22 beanie collection. Polylana® 's proprietary fiber is an eco-friendly alternative to acrylic or wool. It has a unique loft and hand feel that allowing for greater flexibility in sustainable knitting and design.
All of our best-selling core beanies, like the Trouble, Technician, and Flak have been converted to a 60/40 Polylana®/acrylic blend; and all of merino basics (like Hacker and Player) will now be in our new 70/30 Polylana®/merino blend.
Polylana® Fiber is embedded with the AWARE™ Integrity System, designed to provide our customers with the highest level of transparency. Every Polylana® beanie in our collection contains AWARE™ tracer particles, and is registered on the AWARE™ blockchain to verify authenticity of Polylana® Fiber, and to validate impact claims, certification and composition.

Our Biodegradable 100% Merino Collection
Merino wool is known for its quality, softness, and ability to regulate body temperature even during high-intensity activity. One of the reasons that merino wool is so popular is its warmth relative to weight. The fabric has a natural loft that traps heat very efficiently between the fibers, making it warmer than a synthetic of the same weight. Merino can absorb as much as 30% of its weight without feeling wet, making it the most “hydrophilic” of all natural fibers.
It is also fully biodegradable. Synthetics may take from 20 to 200 years to biodegrade, and they are polluting our waterways worse than you would expect. 100% merino takes just six months. So, whenever the sad day comes that you have to say goodbye to your trusty merino beanie, you can at least take solace in the fact that it is not going to harm the planet. All merino used in this range is mulesing-free.
Our Repreve® Collection
Billions of plastic bottles go into landfills every year. But now you can do something about it. REPREVE® is the most trusted, branded performance fiber made from recycled materials (including plastic bottles) in the world. The REPREVE® process embeds properties like wicking, adaptive warming and cooling, water repellency, and odor control, at the fiber level.
Our Repreve® collection is divided into two categories: knits and fleece.
Our Repreve® knits have a silky, dense hand with excellent shape retention, and the recycled poly fibers allow for incredibly saturated, rich colors. All fur used in this range is vegan-friendly faux-fur.
Our Repreve® Fleece is the eco-friendly update of our favourite fleece basics, like the Drake and Durante. Check out our new and improved Ross balaclava shape. We’ve modified the pattern slightly for a better fit.
The Chaos Repreve® collection isn’t just about finding new life for recycled materials. Compared to virgin fiber, REPREVE® offsets petroleum use and emits fewer greenhouse gases. It conserves water and energy, too. REPREVE® is the only eco-performance fiber with U TRUST® verification to certify recycled content claims. Our Classics Collection
Our Classics Collection is a playful, stylish collection that celebrates individuality, diversity, and freedom of expression. All the well-priced favourites that you have depended upon for a meaningful and comprehensive cold-weather offering can be found in this category. This collection includes acrylics, nylons, and other synthetic blends in trendy marls, speckle, tweeds, space-dyes and tie-dyes pieces for a retro feel.
In women’s styles, soft and cozy yarns with high-loft rule the day. Fuzzy brushed beanies that enhance the tactile experience of the wearer are important.
Also, watch for hand-finished detailing, like on our Maverick, Dox, and New Gig beanies. Engineered and fully-fashioned tops are the hottest trend in beanies right now. You will find these special details scattered throughout the Chaos collection. All fur used in this range is vegan-friendly faux-fur.
Our Coordinates Collection
With all the fashionable extras you need, our beautiful coordinates collection contains both wool blends and synthetic blends. We have so many best-sellers in this category (like our Patti, Bedford, Jolly, and Babette ranges) that in order to bring in some new yarns and fresh looks, we increased the size of this offering. Look for our newest fluffy marls, like our Lush group, and gorgeous novelty yarns to complete our coordinate collection.All fur used in this range is vegan-friendly faux-fur.
Our Cut & Sew Collection
Aside from our favorite trappers, this year we have expanded this category to include more cozy hoods and face protection pieces. They are an important addition to our collection.
Our Shield trapper has full Velcro closure, and a removable face shield.
Our seamless UPF20 Multis have moisture-wicking and can be worn a multitude of ways. This year we are offering a multi box that contains an assortment of patterns. Choose the Unisex pack, the Women’s pack, or the Camo pack.
Our Kids’ Collection
Premium outdoor headwear for kids aged 6 through 14. Our kids’ collection is trendy and fun, borrowing from all the hottest looks in our adults’ collection. Little Chaos offers reliable protection from the elements that kids will love to wear.
